Gramophonedzie & Joey Negro ft Shea Soul: No Sugar (Club Mix)

/ Gramophonedzie (who debuted in 2010 with "Why Don't You") returns with another stellar performance with "No Sugar". Coproduced with superstar phenom Joey Negro a.k.a. Dave Lee, the vocal on this joint is the dealmaker. Vocalist Shea Soul jazzes things up with her big band, swing appeal. Upon first hearing the track, I thought it was some classic Doo Wop sample from the '50s. Not so. Shea Soul's delivery throughout cleared that thought. Her point to this guy in the lyrics is "make me mad and you will see how the sugar will be." Ouch!
Gramophonedzie's drum structure pounds the earth's crust with ferocity. Similar to his earlier release "Out Of My Head", "No Sugar" corresponds to the listener's tastes in the same way. I'm not sure what role Joey Negro played in this production. All three of Gramophonedzie's releases mentioned here build momentum in the same manner. Nevertheless, this one is worth consideration to your playlist.
